Enjoy subsidized rent as you embark on a transformative journey at TribaLights Community Housing!  With two locations, one in Santa Fe NM, and the other just 30 minutes outside of town, this immersive experience blends therapeutic outdoor activities with introspective practices, all designed to foster holistic well-being. Our program is tailored to encourage personal growth, healing, and connection within a supportive community, balancing your journey to wellness with financial considerations through Medicaid insurance reimbursement opportunities.

Guided by Certified Peer Support Workers and other wellness professionals, our approaches serve as gateways for you to reclaim your inner strength, balance, and joy.

COMMUNITY HOUSING FAQs

Program Basics

​

How long is the program?

Minimum of 4 months for IOP. Up to 12 months if continuing into Community Support Worker (CSW) training.

​

How do I enroll or refer a client?

Visit tribalights.org and go to ENROLL → COMMUNITY HOUSE. We complete an intake call, background check, and match with availability.

​

Cost & Housing

​

Is housing free?

Yes. Housing is free with active participation. $50/month contribution requested, but not mandatory.

​

Can clients bring children?

Not standard. Open to housing parents with children if two or more apply together for shared unit.

​

Weekly Requirements

​

What are the weekly time commitments?

25 hours/week minimum: 15 hours IOP, 5 hours group support (CCSS), 1 hour individual therapy, plus workshops, movement, and service projects.

 

Daily Living & Personal Freedom

​

Can clients leave for work or school?

Yes, if they maintain program requirements. Work and education are encouraged.

 

Are group outings allowed?

Yes! Outings include hiking, fishing, camping, hot springs, bowling, etc.

 

Phone access?

Yes. Clients can use their phones and are expected to stay responsive.

 

Visitors allowed?

No, unless emergency with prior written approval.

 

Wellness & Facility

 

How is food handled?

Clients provide their own food. We assist with food banks and shared staples.

 

What model of care does IOP use?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focused on emotional regulation, mindfulness, and skill-building.

 

Rules, Safety & Support

What are the behavioral expectations?

No drugs/alcohol. 

No in-house romantic relationships. 

Quiet hours: 10PM–7AM. Curfew: 10PM. 

Respectful behavior required.

 

How are conflicts managed?

Four-step process: 

1) Direct talk, 2) Staff mediation, 3) Formal meeting, 4) Community resolution.

 

Consequences for rule violations?

Three-strike system. Immediate removal for serious violations (e.g., violence, drug use).

 

Is there supervision or check-in?

Yes. Clients sign in/out. Occasional room inspections for safety.

 

Goals & Outcomes

​

What is the ultimate goal?

Support deep recovery, personal growth, and path toward behavioral-health employment (CSW certification).

​

What happens after IOP?

Clients may join CSW training—7–8 months of service, learning, and leadership development.

 

Is therapy available on-site?

Yes. Minimum 1 hour/week of individual therapy and DBT-based group sessions.

 

Is the program remote or in-person?

In-person at community houses. (Remote IOP is a separate program.)
